MIS Research Center Seminar Series
8:30 AM - 11:00 AM
1st Floor Auditorium, Carlson School of Management

Date: September 10 , 2004

Speaker: Praba Manivasager, Analysts International (Renodis Global Services)

Topic: "Understanding the Real Value of Offshore Outsourcing"

Abstract:

An increasing number of executives are evaluating offshore outsourcing as a means of reducing labor costs. While the advantages of transitioning projects to offshore providers are real, the quoted labor rates are only part of the picture, and do not take into account the many factors that can significantly add to the total cost of offshoring.

This seminar presents an opportunity to –

•  Transcend the hype and learn how to calculate the Total Cost of Offshore Outsourcing (TCO)
•  Review the best practices to minimize your risk
•  Understand how to develop the right offshore strategy for your business
