Topic: Why the Number 1 Consumer Electronics Retailer Sells on eBay

Abstract

Brian Hungerford, Director, Best Buy.com, will discuss Best Buy's business alliance with internet giant eBay, with a focus on how the company is bringing its own branded presence to eBay's rapidly-growing market venue to sell end-of-life consumer electronics products to new customers. This presentation will also address how this effort fits into Best Buy's focus on Consumer Centricity. The Best Buy Outlet Store on eBay can be found at www.ebay.com/bestbuy.

Biography

Brian has been with Best Buy four years. Currently, he holds the position of Director, Best Buy.com, and is focused on the development of the Best Buy eBay Business Alliance, and developing new channels for end-of-life inventory. He is the General Manager of the Best Buy Outlet Store on eBay.

Prior to this, Brian held the positions of Director Merchandise Planning and Analysis of New Business Development for Best Buy, and Director of MP&A for Musicland while it was a division of Best Buy.

Before joining Best Buy, Brian spent thirteen years with Target Corporation in numerous financial and merchandise planning roles, most recently holding the position of Director of Merchandise Planning and Analysis for Mervyn’s, located in the Bay Area of northern California.

Brian also has experience in consulting and manufacturing, and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife, Marie Welborn, a clinical psychologist, and daughter Erica, a freshman in high school, live in the Minneapolis suburb of Edina.
