Abstract
“The State of SIP and Interoperability”
To what extent can SIP from multiple vendors work together in a converged IP communications network? We will update the audience as to the current state of SIP and what are the key areas to understand and what is working and not working. We will examine a number of vendors like: Cisco, Avaya, Mitel, Nortel, Alcatel-Lucent and Siemens. We will try and understand what are SIP extensions and why they are used. Conclusion will be pointed and buyer beware! Not all standards are standards.
